It's official, They have spoken and the Pantone Color of 2017 is GREENERY!
I don't think this was really a surprise to anyone, this green color had been catching on this year so we knew we'd be seeing more of it. And I love it! Greenery is such a versatile color that it'll look great at your next event. Just imagine cream table linens, mint napkins and tons of lush greenery adorning every table. It's an actual dream come true. We're going to see this color pop up in more than just floral arrangements though this year. What's most exciting about this color is that when used outdoors it really comes life; however, when used indoors it can give you such a bright welcoming feel.
As I mentioned you can incorporate the color in your flowers. Doing bouquets of greenery with pops of colors with flowers will stand out against your dress. Use this idea for the guys too! Do a boutonnière of mostly green foliage and then add one simple flower of color to pop. And just imagine all the possibilities with flower crowns here! Flower crowns are such a big trend right now and I don't think they are going away anytime soon either. Flower crown + Greenery = most amazing headpiece we've ever seen. And you can't argue with math! Add fresh greenery to your dessert of choice (cake, donut tower, pie) to bring in a fresh natural aspect also. Include this color in your table floral arrangements too. Live floral runners down long tables are incredible and can be really simple or really elaborate. Use eucalyptus to run all the way down the table and add in pieces of baby's breath to give it body. Place succulents and candles down the runner as well and you have amazing simple table decor. Or talk with your florist and ask them to create a large elaborate floral runner and pop in your accent color along the way.
Speaking of table decor... You can even use Greenery within your table design. Remember that dream we were having about cream tables and green napkins? That's such a simple and elegant way to bring in the 2017 Color of the Year. Or you can find green glass chargers to bring in that color. For place settings you can use a little succulent on each plate with a name card. Or create place cards that are green themselves so they stand out against a cream colored table. Small floral arrangements would look lovely here, with mostly green foliage and a hint of color. If your wedding is more formal you may opt for a really tall centerpiece with a large greenery arrangement on top. Tall centerpieces are dramatic and gorgeous and still allow guests to see through them while sitting at the table. And nothing is more romantic with this color than candles. Either votives or different height cylinder candle holders will bring your tables together.
Now, when you see this color the mind automatically jumps to spring wedding because of its fresh bright tone. However, I'm here to tell you that we can use this color in whatever season you dream of getting married in! This color is so neutral that we can literally fit it into any inspo board. Dreaming of bright summer wedding? Let's compliment it with bright pops of pinks and oranges. Always wanted a snow covered big day? This color would look amazing against natural browns and 2015's color Marsala. Rich wine reds with Greenery in your floral will have every snow-bunny swooning.
